چکیده

-1. Paramyosins isolated from nematode Caenorhabditis elegans, clam Meretrix meretrix and Mercenaria mercenaria, scallop Patinopecten yessoensis, abalone Notohaliotis discus, lobster Homarus vulgaris and sea cucumber Holothuria leucospilata were examined for phosphorylation rate and immunological reactivity against anti-Meretrix ~t-paramyosin antiserum. 2. A high phosphorylation was only observed with the ~t-forms of bivalve paramyosins from Meretrix, Mercenaria and Patinopecten. 3. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay data also revealed that phosphorylatable paramyosins of catch muscle differed in structure from those of non-catch muscle.

IgE cross-reactivity between house dust mite allergens and Ascaris lumbricoides antigens

BACKGROUND Common antigens between intestinal parasites and environmental allergens may play a role in the modulation of allergic immune responses. There is a growing interest in investigating cross-reactivity between common helminths and dust mites affecting humans, particularly in the tropics. OBJECTIVE This study examined the cross-reactivity between the human roundworm Ascaris lumbricoide...

Cross-reactivity of anti-human cytokine monoclonal antibodies used as a tool to identify novel immunological biomarkers in domestic ruminants.

Eleven commercially available PE-labeled anti-human (IL-1-α, IL-6, IL-8, TNF-α, IL-17A, IL-5, IL-10, IL-12 and IL-13) and anti-mouse (IL-10, TNF-α) cytokine monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) were tested for cross-reactivity with cattle, goat, and sheep cytokines. Cross-reactivity was assessed by comparative analysis with the standard reactivity of the target species. Our data demonstrated that anti-...

Comparative Study of Immunological and Structural Properties of Two Recombinant Vaccine Candidates against Botulinum Neurotoxin Type E

Background: Recently, botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT)-derived recombinant proteins have been suggested as potential botulism vaccines. Here, with concentrating on BoNT type E (BoNT/E), we studied two of these binding domain-based recombinant proteins: a multivalent chimer protein, which is composed of BoNT serotypes A, B and E binding subdomains, and a monovalent recombinant protein, which contains...

Passive stiffness in Drosophila indirect flight muscle reduced by disrupting paramyosin phosphorylation, but not by embryonic myosin S2 hinge substitution.

High passive stiffness is one of the characteristic properties of the asynchronous indirect flight muscle (IFM) found in many insects like Drosophila. To evaluate the effects of two thick filament protein domains on passive sarcomeric stiffness, and to investigate their correlation with IFM function, we used microfabricated cantilevers and a high resolution imaging system to study the passive I...

Paramyosin phosphorylation site disruption affects indirect flight muscle stiffness and power generation in Drosophila melanogaster.

The phosphoprotein paramyosin is a major structural component of invertebrate muscle thick filaments. To investigate the importance of paramyosin phosphorylation, we produced transgenic Drosophila melanogaster in which one, three, or four phosphorylatable serine residues in the N-terminal nonhelical domain were replaced by alanines. Depending on the residues mutated, transgenic lines were eithe...
